In previous blog I have written "Why to Become a Civil Engineer" and I also introduce "Different types of Civil Engineering". Now I will describe them in brief one by one.
INTRODUCTION TO STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING :

Structural Engineering is the branch of Civil Engineering in which structural engineers are educated to create the "bones and muscles" that create the form of shape of man made structures. They involves designing of structures such as buildings, bridges, machinery tools, etc.
How A Structural Engineer Work :
The majority of Structural Engineer primarily work as consultant to Architects. The Architect make buildings layout and then its the responsibility of Structural Engineer to calculate environment conditions like snow, wind,or other natural disaster then fits the structure and decide what structural material to be used to make beams ,columns, etc that support building. The structural material include iron,cement,concrete,steel.wood,masonry,etc. Although Structural Engineering involved with designing of new buildings . They also have to involved in demolition and dismantle of building either temporary ( by repairing them) or permanently (by destroying them).
Education :
The work of Structural Engineer is quiet difficult because they related to public safety . A small misshaping can take numerous of life . So, in order to ensure safety and perfectionism in structural engineering a engineer must have a bachelor's degree (in Civil Engineering) and atleast four years of working experience under an Engineer .
How Journey of Structural Engineering begin :

It was the time around 2700 B.C. when a step pyramid for Pharaoh Djoser(Egyptian king at that time) was built by Imhotep . Imhotep was the First engineer to be known by name . Pyramids were the most common structures made by Ancient Civilisation they are common because these structure are most stable structure than others . They are stable because of their shape and also of the strength of stones which are used in their construction . It is quiet interesting that there is no theory of structures exist . No record exist for its first calculation of strength and behaviour of structural material. After successful attempt made by Imhotep of step pyramid many more tries to make structures and their attempts help to improve structural design but this profession take place with Industrial Revolution . After 1970's Engineers are capable to make computer biased application like CAD , FREE CAD ,etc
Thank You
