GEO-TECHNICAL ENGINEERING

World is Experiencing something new daily so , lets have our new topic om our blog Today, it's about

                                            "Geo-Technical Engineering" :

Geotechnical Engineering

Geo-technical engineering, is the study  of a civil engineer include soil, foundations, bearing capacities etc. The engineer will study the behaviour of the earth materials and how they will affect a structure that is to be constructed. They will also evaluate pre-existing structures that are showing signs of problems with the earth materials under or near the structure.Everything you see around is supported by soil or rock. Civil Engineers specially the Geo-technical Engineers are responsible for such. It is further divided into three Branches :
*
1. Soil Mechanics

           What is Soil Mechanics?

2. Rock Mechanics

3. Foundation Engineering

(* I will discuss its branches in detail in my upcoming blogs)

How Geo-Technical Engineers Work ?

Geo-Technical Engineers are responsible for ensuring that the soil and rock of construction site foundation will remain stable when placed under pressure by the structures that will build on them and also ensure stability of structure against natural calamities . They determine site stability by collecting and analysing the samples of soil and rock . they use different tools and methods to check site's stability. After checking and analysing the samples they prepare report , design for the site and show this report to Architect , Structural Engineer , Construction Engineer , etc.
