In my previous blog we had learnt "How Construction Engineering Begins" and "How To Become A Construction Engineer" while making previous blog one question sticks in my mind that Why Construction Engineer wear helmets ? Now you all thinking Why I am asking this silly question its answer is to easy simply for safety But do you know  that there is not only one colour helmet used .We often seen yellow helmets wear by some people but Are they Construction Engineers ? if not then which colour is used by Construction Engineers ! Are these Helmets only used for safety purpose or there be more reasons to be used.

                             

 The word Helmet is known as Hard Hats in Engineering.The Hard Hats is one of the most common safety accessories on building sites. Apart from safety their are other reasons too , if safety is the reason then all of us wear same colour Hard Hats while working.

                      The reasons for different Colour codes are :


. To identify a person and its responsibilities

. To avoid any accident

. To protect a person from falling objects

. To protect from the penetration of  any dangerous objects at workplace


              Next reason is Safety but what kind of safety . let me give the following in brief :


. Electric Resistance

. Penetration Resistance

. Heat Resistance

. Flammability Resistance

. Water Absorption Resistance

. Shock Absorption Resistance


             HARD HAT COLOUR CODE :

A Construction site includes engineer , supervisor , firefighters , welders , labours , electrician , carpenter and many others  Hat Colours differentiate engineers from supervisors and labourer . What you Probably don't known is that the different Hard Hat colours signify different roles



1.  White :




 White is for Top rank Workers on the site .White is usually meant for managers , engineers , supervisors , and foreman.










2. Yellow : 




There was I a time when I thought yellow Hard Hat  was meant for engineers but now i am aware that these hats are used by labourers







3. Blue :

Apart from Civil Worker Technicians such as electricians , carpenters , and others used these Hats .












4. Green :



Green is often used to signify safety inspectors . However , it can be worn by new labours on the site or by staff members on probation.

5. Brown :


If you see someone wearing brown hat , that might be a welder or someone who involves in high heat applications .














6. Grey :


When you visit a site , you might be given a grey hat this is generally for  the visitors . To ensure  safety they introduced grey hat.












7. Red :


Whenever you see a worker wearing red hat its means that he is a fire fighter










8. Pink :


  In case an employee forget their hat or misplaces it, there usually a bright pink hat  on the site for them to wear before  they get it back or find a new one.
